PAWNY Fall 2024 Workshop - "Therapeutic Interventions for the Treatment of Clients with Chronic Pain"

Time: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Program Summary

This training explores the biopsychosocial nature of chronic pain. There will be a review of the link between physical and emotional pain, as well as effective techniques to retrain the nervous system. Emphasis will be placed on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Pain Reprocessing Therapy. Tools that can be generalized to other presenting concerns including journaling, mindfulness, self-soothing, and somatic tracking will be reviewed, with child-specific recommendations noted as well.

Presenter

Dr. Jaimee ArnoffDr. Jaimee Arnoff is a licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in teens and young adults, including those in the Deaf Community at her private practice in Beacon, NY. Dr. Arnoff has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across hospital settings, residential treatment centers, and community mental health clinics with a training focus in mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Arnoff is certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and has been featured on multiple podcasts discussing mental health treatment for chronic pain including Confidently Insecure and Behavioral Health Today. She is on the Founding Providers Board for the venture-backed digital health company, Flowly, which combines virtual reality and biofeedback training for chronic pain patients. She also provides them with workshops for individuals, their families, and providers managing physical pain. As an individual who experiences chronic pain personally, she hopes to reduce the stigma of seeking out therapy services as a treatment for chronic pain.

  3. Identify various therapeutic interventions to promote effective pain management

To receive continuing education credit, you must attend the program in its entirety. This will be verified online attendance at the beginning & end of the program. A program evaluation will be sent to you by email. The program evaluation must be completed and returned within 7 days. CE Certificates of Attendance will be sent electronically within 14 days post event upon the receipt of a completed program evaluation and verification of attendance. No certificates will be awarded without a submitted evaluation.
